Democracy and Governance in Indonesia has Grown Rapidly

After U.S. President Barack Obama, turn Prime Minister Gordon Brown said the UK survived on the back elected Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono as president of Indonesia.

Brown expects the two countries can conduct cooperation in more important areas, such as economic policy, climate change, and the relationship of trade and investment. Brown also supports SBY to continue to fiscal reform. "And, according to what we agree on the G-20 meeting, to oppose protectionist measures," he said.

In addition, Brown also hoped the two countries can follow up the results of the G-20 meetings, including meeting in Pittsburg that will be held in September.

Brown rate, SBY has provided strong leadership in ASEAN in protecting and promoting human rights, especially for the case of Myanmar.

He also believes SBY will use new mandate to initiate cooperation with ASEAN in achieving progress in the field of human rights and capacity development. "As a friend of ASEAN and Myanmar, the UK can provide a useful support constructive," he said.
